The Vietnamese U22 team will reconvene on 18 December.

This will be the last gathering for the squad this year, during which they will play two friendly matches against the men’s national team at Cam Pha Stadium (Quang Ninh) on 23 December and Viet Tri Stadium (Phu Tho) on 27 December.

The friendly games are part of Viet Nam’s preparations for the 2022 World Cup AFC qualifiers, the AFF Suzuki Cup 2020, the 2022 AFC U23 Championship qualifiers and the 31st Southeast Asian (SEA) Games in 2021.

They are more significant as all proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to a fund supporting flood victims in the central and Central Highlands regions.

To ensure professional requirements for the camp and the friendly matches, coach Park Hang-seo has given priority to players who performed outstandingly in the third gathering, such as Nham Manh Hung (Viettel), Tran Van Cong (Hong Linh Ha Tinh), Dung Quang Nho (Hoang Anh Gia Lai) and Le Minh Binh (Ba Ria-Vung Tau).

Notably, the U22 team will see the addition of PVF’s young talent Huynh Cong Den, who is also the pillar in the national U19 squad.

Viet Nam U22s will travel to Quang Ninh on 22 December to prepare for their first friendly against the national team a day later. They will then return to Ha Noi for continuous training before heading to Phu Tho for the second friendly match on 27 December.
