Both professional and amateur runners across Da Nang are busy preparing for the 24^th Da Nang Newspaper Road Races which will take place at the Tien Son Sport Arena on Sunday morning, 20 December.

The 24th DA NANG Newspaper Road Races will see the participation of runners from Da Nang sports clubs, such as Danang Runners, Son Tra Runners and Hoa Khanh Runners.

Specially, participating runners will include members from the groups of Danang Runners, Son Tra Runners and Hoa Khanh Runners, plus the Danang Triathlon team.

Tran Huu Hoanh, leader of the Hoa Khanh Runners Group, said that, upon hearing the announcements about the race, he immediately encouraged all members of his group to register for the sports event. He remarked that the sports event will provide an excellent opportunity to train talented runners for Da Nang.

In a similar vein, members of the Son Tra Runners Group which has just been established in June are very eager to compete in this race which is considered as one of Da Nang’s sports competitions.

Huynh Quoc Hung, a member of the Son Tra Runners Group, highlighted the significance of the annual Da Nang Newspaper Road Races in promoting the development of high-achievement sports in Da Nang, as well as inspiring people from all walks of life, civil servants, pupils and students, military officers and men across Da Nang to participate in physical training movements.

The forthcoming 24^th DA NANG Newspaper Road Races is co-organised by the newspaper, the Da Nang Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the municipal Department of Education and Training, the Military Command, and the municipal Police Department.

Hundreds of runners across the city in total are expected to participate in this year’s event. They will be staff members from government agencies and companies, students from junior and senior high schools, vocational schools, junior colleges and universities across Da Nang, along with officers and men from Da Nang-based armed forces.

Also, this year’s event will see the participation of athletes from running clubs across the city, hereby helping to make the upcoming competition be more exciting and thrilling.
