Da Nang emerges as the best place for athletes
The Da Nang Athlete Training Centre already produced encouraging results within a year of its active operations despite the challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic. The centre’s athletes gained numerous remarkable achievements at several Viet Nam's national sporting events in late 2020.

In particular, Da Nang Taekwondo team excellently finished in second place at Vietnamese National Taekwondo Championship 2020. Da Nang young judo fighters claimed 3 goldens, 2 silvers and 5 bronzes from Viet Nam's National Youth Judo Championship 2020.
Most noticeably, Da Nang teams of athletics, swimming, judo and sailing still secured their certain positions in the national sports arena.
The much-hailed results significantly contributed to cementing Da Nang's postion as one of prestigious sports and physical training centres in Central Viet Nam, and in Viet Nam at large.
Da Nang Athlete Training Centre Director Nguyen Dong Hai said that many preferential policies have been issued for coaches and athletes by the city’s sports sector over recent years in an effort to select excellent talents for the city's high-achievement sports teams.
All most of athletes who are playing for the city’s high-achievement sports teams said that Da Nang boasts good and modern training facilities, along with an overall healthy sporting environment, thereby helping athletes develop their professional skills as much as possible.
Deputy Director of the municipal Department of Culture and Sports Nguyen Trong Thao remarked, coaches and athletes in Da Nang have received monthly allowances and cash rewards for their outstanding achievements at national and international sports events. Besides, they have been facilitated to participate in vocational training courses or seek suitable jobs after ending their elite sports career.
Coach of the Da Nang Taekwondo team Ha Hien Huy said some Taekwondo fighters from Phu Yen Province who once joined his team were created very favourable conditions both in competition and learning. Thanks to this, these athletes were able to graduate from the Da Nang University of Physical Education and Sports and seek suitable jobs after their retirement.
Currently, the Da Nang Athlete Training Centre is on domestic hunt for talented athletes in different age groups for the city’s high-achievement sports teams. By joining such the teams, selected athletes will have the opportunity to enjoy the city’s preferential policies, attend short and long-term training courses at both home and overseas, and develop their professional skills as much as possible.
