Free admission to museums in Da Nang helps increase visitor numbers
Admission fees are waived for visits to public museums across Da Nang, including Cham Sculptures and Fine Arts, in 2021. This is a good opportunity for both the public across Da Nang and tourists to learn about the culture and history of the city, as well as for these museums to promote their invaluable values to the community.

Effective way to attract more visitors to museums
In mid-January, a group of students from the Faculty of International Studies of the Da Nang University of Foreign Language Studies visited the Museum of Cham Sculpture. These students showed their keen interest in learning about the Cham culture through artifacts on display here.
Freshman Trinh Ho Binh Nguyen said “I love history and learning about the past, so I am very excited to visit the museum to learn about Cham culture. I am very impressed on precious artifacts and heritages of Cham culture here."
The Faculty's lecture Vo Ha Chi said that such free museum entry during this year offered a good opportunity for college and university students to enrich their history and culture-related knowledge.
History teacher Dinh Thi Duong from the Hoa Vang district-based Pham Phu Thu Senior High School remarked her school has organised numerous lively and attractive extracurricular activities at the Museum of Da Nang, drawing much attention from the school pupils.
Ms Chi also highlighted the significance of these activities to help school pupils improve their academic knowledge, and understand more about the history and culture of Da Nang, the habit and customs of local people.
Meanwhile, despite being very busy, Nguyen Anh Tuan, a resident of Hai Chau District, made an attempt to spend his time on taking his children to visit the 'Nghiep' exhibition at the Da Nang Museum of Fine Arts.
Mr Tuan expressed his belief that free admission to public museums in Da Nang will encourage people of all ages, especially parents and their children, to learn more about the history and culture of ancestors in the past.
Good opportunity to promote local culture and history
Since applying the admission fee waiver which is valid from 1 January to 31 December 2021, the Museum of Cham Sculpture has welcomed over 3,000 visitors, including 1,000 domestic tourists, 46 foreigners, 1,500 students and 500 pupils.
Director of the museum Ho Tan Tuan remarked "Despite free admission, our museum selected highly skilled and experienced museum guides to best serve tourists in addition to automatic audio guides. In the time to come, we plan to organise impressive Champa dance shows at the museum's yard so as to increase visitor numbers".
Ms Nguyen Thi Trinh, Deputy Director of the Da Nang Fine Arts Museum, said the city's free museum entry policy was an opportunity for museums in Da Nang to renew themselves, rearrange their exhibition spaces, organise more exhibitions, and get closer access to tour operators that will bring more tour visitors to their museums in the future.
