A vast and varied array of vibrant and exciting events will take place across Da Nang to entertain both locals and tourists as a move to celebrate the ongoing 13th National Party Congress and the upcoming Lunar New Year break.

The public will be treated to two arts programmes celebrating the great success of the 13th National Party Congress, the country’s most important political event in the year.

One will be held by the Son Tra District authorities on 2 February at a park located on the eastern end of the Rong (Dragon) Bridge, exactly on a section of Tran Hung Dao - Ly Nam De route.

The other, with the participation of the Trung Vuong arts troupe, will take its shape on 3 February on a section of Bach Dang street riverside promenade, exactly at the intersection of Bach Dang and Binh Minh 6 streets in Hai Chau District.

The 2021 Spring Newspaper Festival, which has ‘Welcome in the Spring, the Party and the Prosperous City’ as its theme, opened at the Da Nang General Science Library, 46 Bach Dang on 4 February.

The Spring Flower Festival will take place at the iconic Bach Dang street riverside promenade from 10- 21 February, the period encompassing the Tet Festival.

Da Nang will ring in the Lunar New Year 2021 with immense joy and spectacular fireworks shows on Lunar New Year’s Eve, which will fall on 12 February.

The upcoming 15-minute fireworks shows will be at the Nguyen Van Troi Bridge, the Phuong Trang vacant land area in front of the Lien Chieu District Administrative Centre, and a vacant site in front of the Hoa Vang District Administrative Centre.

FireOne wireless system, which is the world's most advanced digital pyrotechnic firing and choreography system, will be applied in the launching of the fireworks. All the costs of these shows will be covered by the Sun Group Corporation.

Mr Ha Vy, Deputy Director of the Da Nang Department of Culture and Sports underlined a must-do to the events’ organisers must ensure safety measures against COVID-19 in line with Viet Nam's national government-mandated pandemic prevention and control measures.

Of special note, focus should be on making the public habit of wearing face masks a social norm, and making health declarations as requested.

In the immediate future, some activities and events with close human contact, which are slated to take place during this weekend from 29 to 31 January have been cancelled, including the street dance programme organised by Da Nang Centre of Culture – Cinema, and the Tet market festival and other related events at the Museum of Da Nang.
