The National Pencak Silat Championship 2021 is taking place at the Tien Son Sports Arena in Da Nang from 22 - 28 March.

This year's event attracts about 300 athletes from 28 Pencak Silat teams across Viet Nam who will compete in 24 combat (tanding) and 6 demonstration (Senni) events for different age groups of 17-45.

In his remarks at the opening ceremony on Monday, Mr Vu Xuan Thanh, Deputy Director of the High-Achievement Sports Department 1 cum Deputy Head of the event’s Organising Board, said this year’s national sports event offered an opportunity for coaches to find excellent Pencak Silat athletes to participate in important international tournaments in 2021, especially the upcoming SEA Games 31 which will take place in Viet Nam late this year.
