At a press conference on Saturday it was announced that the semi-final and finals of the beauty pageant, Viet Nam Peace Bella 2021, are scheduled to take place in Da Nang in June and July.

The Minh Khang Viet Nam -hosted contest aims to honour and promote the beauty of Vietnamese women, as well as select the most beautiful Vietnamese women for international pageants.

The competition also offers an opportunity to promote the culture, tourism potential and historical traditions of Viet Nam, along with the prosperous peace of the country in the context of global integration.

Deputy Director of the Da Nang Department of Culture and Sports Nguyen Thi Hoi An remarked the municipal government is always willing to create very favourable conditions for cultural and sports events to be held successfully in the city in a bid to realise its goal of building Da Nang into a city of events and festivals. 

Mrs An said that Da Nang has till date been selected to host five beauty contests, with the  Viet Nam Peace Bella 2021 being a highlight of this year.

"I hope that the Viet Nam Peace Bella 2021 will be a healthy and useful playground and educational environment for young women to exchange and dedicate themselves to the community" Mrs An remarked.

The contest will open to all Vietnamese women aged from 18 to 25. Contestants are required to have high school diploma, have good ethic and not already married.

Qualifying rounds of the pageant are set to take place in Northern and Central Viet Nam in late May, and in Southern Viet Nam in early June. The finale is set to be held on 3 July in Da Nang.

A total of 35 contestants will be selected for the finals, and the winner will be awarded a cash prize of 100 million VND, whilst the first and second runner-ups will respectively receive prizes worth 80 and 60 million VND.

In addition to Miss Viet Nam Peace Bella 2021 and the two runners-up, the contest’s organiser will present such subsidiary awards as Miss Kindness, Miss Ao Dai, Miss Communications, Miss Talent, Miss Beach Beauty, Miss Tourism, Miss Community and Miss National Costume.

The organiser will donate a part of proceedings to single elderly people, disadvantaged children and those who made meritorious contributions to the nation's revolutionary cause, across Da Nang.
