The Da Nang Department of Culture and Sports has announced to suspend all planned-to-be-held cultural events with large gatherings celebrating the Reunification Day (April 30) and Labour Day (May 1) holidays across the city until further notice in a bid to prevent a possible resurgence of COVID-19.

The move came amid the complicated developments of the COVID-19 pandemic around the world, especially in Viet Nam’s neighbouring countries.

Notable amongst the suspended events are the ‘Rap Show’ on Friday evening at the Asia Park and a music show within the framework of Yamaha Motor Expo event on Saturday evening on the eastern bank of Rong (Dragon) Bridge.

Besides, the municipal authorities also asked the Viet Nam Circus Federation to halt the ‘Contemporary Circus Arts’ at the Thanh Nien (Youth) Park located on Xuan Thuy Street, Khue Trung Ward, Cam Le District).
