The 25 artworks, which were created by students from the Architecture Faculty of the Da Nang University of Science and Technology and members of the Urban Sketchers Da Nang group, demonstrate the city’s current stature as a dynamic city boasting remarkable changes in the ongoing rapid urbanization process.

Despite their young age, with their talents and passion, the brainchildren created by these students are highly appreciated by local experts.

Painter Truong Nguyen Nguyen Kha, Head of Operations Department of the Da Nang Museum of Fine Arts, said that, based on his perspectives, the 25 sketches demonstrate  students' good sketching techniques.

“Through these artworks, viewers can feel the enthusiasm and affection of the young people towards the beloved city. If they keep the flame of passion for arts, these students will become talent contributing to promoting the development of the Da Nang arts development strides in the future,”, said painter Kha.

Ho Kim Thach, the leader of the Urban Sketchers Da Nang, said that the group currently has a close to 100 members, mainly students studying in the city. The group focuses on creating sketches showcasing the culture, history, arts and architecture of landmarks, especially highly valuable ancient works in the process of urbanisation.

With their love for Da Nang, the group’s members have always longed to preserve and introduce the most beautiful moments of Da Nang to the public through their drawings.

In a similar move, students from the Faculty of Architecture at the Da Nang University of Science and Technology also hold the same target of spreading the message of preserving and promoting the city’s cultural beauties.

Sharing about his hobby of drawing urban sketches, Nguyen Cong Lam, a student from the Faculty of Architecture, said Da Nang boasts many unique cultural and architectural sites, which is a source of diverse topics for those having passion for sketching. Despite its hustle and bustle, Da Nang still has its own characteristics which make it stand out amongst other cities countrywide.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Anh Tuan, the Dean of the Faculty of Architecture, the Da Nang University of Science and Technology, affirmed that the exhibition offers an opportunity for students to contribute publicising the beauty and development breakthroughs of the city through their paintings.

“I hope that, in the future, the city will continue to organise many more exhibitions of higher quality and scale, thereby creating more arts playgrounds for young people and promote Da Nang as a beautiful, friendly and creative city among both domestic and international friends,”, emphasized Mr. Tuan.
