Da Nang photography wins big at the 11th International Photo Contest

The Da Nang photography has won remarkable achievements at the 11th International Photo Contest. A total of 21 members from the Da Nang Artistic Photographers’ Association had their entries selected for an exhibition within the framework of the event. Outstandingly, photographer Nguyen Cong Hung won a silver medal for his photo entitled ‘Spring of youth in the COVID-19 stricken area’ in the portrait category.

The event is conducted by the Viet Nam Association of Photographic Artists (VAPA), under the patronages of the International Federation of Photographic Art (FIAP), the Image Sans Frontiere (ISF) and Photographic Society of America (PSA).

It features the four sections of open colour, open monochrome, travel and portrait, the organisers said.

Each entrant may participate in any one or all sections, and can submit a maximum of four photos per section and a total 16 photos for all sections.

Entries must originate as photographs (image-captures of objects via light sensitivity) made by the entrant on photographic emulsion or acquired digitally.

There are 97 awards, including one FIAP/PSA/ISF/VAPA gold medals, one FIAP/PSA/ ISF/VAPA silver medals, one FIAP/PSA/ ISF/VAPA bronze medals and three FIAP/PSA/ ISF/VAPA honourable mentions.

The contest’s organiser received a total of 16,924 entries made by 1,518 contestants from 53 countries and territories around the world.

A ceremony to award winners and open an exhibition showcasing the winning photos is slated for October in the capital city of Ha Noi.
