The Da Nang government has recently confirmed further relaxations that came into effect amid the city’s advancing to a new phase of the tough battle against the coronavirus. In particular, people in ‘green zones’ have been allowed to practice physical exercises and play sports in public places since September 6 according to the specified time frame prescribed. It can be seen that people virtually have always strictly abided by the mandatory pandemic prevention and control regulations under the guidance of the local authorities.

According to Mr Mai Mai Linh, residing in Hai Chau 1 Ward, Hai Chau District, being able to exercise again after 20 days of staying in the oppressive atmosphere at home during days of social distancing makes all of his family members feel much more refreshing and pleasant.

Similarly, Ms Hoang Thi Thu Huong, residing in Phuoc My Ward, Son Tra District has often jogged with her family in the early morning since September 6. Since the municipal administration allowed people in ‘green zones’ to do physical exercise outdoor again, they have been very excited and now hope to be able to immerse in the freshwater of the sea like in previous days soon.

As reported, some green areas such as a section of Bach Dang Street near the ‘green wards’ of Hai Chau District, East Sea Park, beaches in two green districts of Son Tra and Ngu Hanh Son and other public amusement spots in the residential areas have witness quite a large number of people going jogging and exercising every day in the early morning and late afternoon. Encouragingly, most of them have always strictly adhered to the 5K regulations such as wearing face masks, avoiding gatherings, distancing at least 2 meters from others, even carefully wearing droplet shields and hats.

Since several specific activities were allowed to resume, ‘green districts’ have continuously tried to control the pandemic in the spirit of "loosening but not relaxing".

As usual, functional forces still task themselves with broadcasting or hanging banners reminding locals to strictly abide by the regulations on physical training and exercise in public places within the green zone as time frame prescribed, and regularly monitor and handle any cases found going against the compulsory pandemic prevention and control in order to sustainably maintain 'green zones'

Mr Huynh Van Hung, Vice Chairman of the Son Tra District People's Committee, urged local community-based COVID-19 task forces to uphold their role in controlling commuters entering and leaving green areas locally, strengthening reminders about COVID-19 prevention rules to locals via portable speakers and social media with the motto "each ward is a fortress against the pandemic".  Accordingly, people are allowed to do physical activities outdoors but are not permitted to take advantage of this relaxation to violate regulations.
