8 outstanding ideas of design contest for expansion of Hai Chau District Administrative Centre chosen for awards

Top 8 best architectural ideas for the expansion of Hai Chau District Administrative Centre were announced on Wednesday, October 6, by a spokesperson for the Da Nang Construction Engineering Consultancy Centre.

Launched in May 2021, the contest aimed at seeking best architectural ideas for the expansion of Hai Chau District Administrative Centre has attracted 20 entries in total from 19 design units.

After two competitive rounds of the design contest, top 8 outstanding entries with codes of AH21, HH86, KG01, SD33, TA05, TL27, UV21 and VA19, have been chosen for awards.

Director of the Da Nang Construction Engineering Consultancy Centre Tran Van Nam said that the 8 aforementioned ideas will continue to be questioned by the judges’ council to clarify their ideas. Then, the contest's judges will choose the best entries, and announce the winners.

The project, planned at 270 Tran Phu, Phuoc Ninh Ward, Hai Chau District with a total area of 8,010 m2, is expected to consist of the existing Hai Chau District Administrative Centre covering about 4,925 m2, the existing traffic island site with about 2,396 m2 and the planned-to-be-relocated houses nearby with a total area of about 691 m2.

The planned project will border a 3m wide alley to the north, the current residential area to the west, Le Dinh Duong Street to the south and Tran Phu Street to the east.
