During the rage of the COVID-19 pandemic, the theaters of Trung Vuong and the Nguyen Hien Dinh Tuong (classical drama) were greatly affected with all operations halted.

Also being stuck in the same challenging situation, many local museums that used to be bustling with visitors participating in experiential activities had their doors closed.

Such cultural service providers as private cinemas, advertising service companies and event organisers are also not out of the loop.

In reality, the pandemic caused disruptions to events and adversely affected financial resources of the cultural industry.

Taking advantage of the suspension time to implement the distance, the local cultural industry focused all its efforts on developing programmes, schemes and plans for the 2021 - 2025 period.

Notable amongst them are projects promoting the development of the city's public library system and the values of historical - cultural relics and scenic spots across the city in the next 5-year period, with a vision toward 2030, plus the management of the city symbols.

The local cultural sector is still waiting for an approval by the municipal administration to kick off a project on giving a facelift to the outdoor sculpture system in Da Nang to 2025,  with a vision toward 2030 and another one with a target of launching special events and cultural festivals every year, associated with the establishment of a chain of night-time entertainment events across the city.

For the time being, the Trung Vuong Theater is preparing for the launch of monthly music programme entitled ‘Colours of Trung Vuong’ which features one theme for each month.

The first show is scheduled to take place on October 25 with the theme ‘City in the Heart’.
In a similar vein, seasoned artistes from the Nguyen Hien Dinh Tuong Theater have actively been joining rehearsals of Tuong performances in service for both local and visitors.

The Da Nang General Science Library is now on course to develop online bookstores for local the public.

Through highly practical activities on social networks, the Museum of Da Nang  and the Da Nang Museum of Fine Arts has continued providing visitors with useful information about heritage and fine arts.

The virtual event will introduce the public and arts lovers a total of 26 paintings and statues about Vietnamese women. All to-be-displayed works of arts are parts of the existing collection of 44 works by late artist Le Cong Thanh.

In particular, an amble range of high-quality art events and programmes will be launched in the coming time to celebrate 25th anniversary of Da Nang's recognition as centrally-governed city.

Da Nang’s first-ever short film contest will be held soon by the Da Nang
Department of Culture and Sports and the HCM City-headquartered Youth Life Multimedia JSC.

Also, HCM City-based Fans Viet Advertising Media Co., Ltd will be the organiser of the  much- awaited Countdown - Happy New Year 2022 programme.
