1,100 match-fixing suspicions detected in the past 18 months

Potential match-fixing has been detected in more than 1,100 sports matches over the past 18 months, according to a recent report released by Sportradar AG multinational corporation.  

Among them, 655 suspicious football matches have been detected in national championships and football tournaments in the third tier and below, including youth tournaments.

Aside from football, Sportradar has detected suspicious activity in 37 tennis matches, 19 basketball matches, 11 table tennis matches, 9 ice hockey matches and 6 cricket matches. Volleyball, handball, and beach volleyball have been also flagged as problem areas.

Sportradar has utilised its bet monitoring system, the Universal Fraud Detection System (UFDS), to detect suspicious activity in 12 different sports across more than 70 countries worldwide.
