National U21 Football Tournament qualifiers delayed to early next month

The qualifiers of the National U21 Football Tournament 2021have been delayed till December 2 due to the complex developments of coronavirus outbreaks in the host province of Hung Yen, according to the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF).

The tournament was scheduled to kick off on November 26.

Under VFF’s rules, all participating footballers must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, and they must have received a second dose of a COVID-19 vaccine at least 14 days before the tournament kickoff. Also, players who used to be F0 cases have recovered from COVID-19 within 6 months and have negative test results for SARS-CoV-2 with the validity within 72 hours before the tournament.

All players are required to sign commitments to be under the supervision of the government, and strictly comply with the host’s pandemic prevention and control regulations.

VFF requires all registered teams to recheck health conditions of their team members and reconfirm their participation before November 15. By November 15, any team that does not meet the above requirements will not be allowed to compete in the tournament.

As expected, VFF and the tournament organizers will conduct a draw for qualifiers on November 17, as well as set the time for the qualifying and final rounds of the tournament.
