Viet Nam to host national MMA Championships for the first time

The Viet Nam Mixed Martial Arts Championships 2021 will officially kick off on December 19 in Ho Chi Minh City, the Viet Nam Mixed Martial Arts Federation (VMMAF) has recently announced.

This is the first tournament to have been organized by VMMAF since the establishment of the federation in 2020.

Registration for the upcoming sports event should be made from November 19 - December 4.

It is known that the intention of this tournament is to evaluate the training level of MMA fighters nationwide, as well as promote the development of MMA movement, thereby gradually expanding the professional competition into other localities nationwide.

Under the tournament’s rules, MMA fighters will compete in 8 weight classes with 6 weight classes for men (56kg, 60kg, 65kg, 70kg, 77kg, 84kg) and 2 weight classes for women (52kg, 56kg).

Each winner of weight classes will receive a cash prize of VND 25 million, a championship trophy and others.

If a march is finished by knock-out or submission, the winner will receive additional VND5 million in bonus money.

In addition to aforementioned prizes, the organisers will present the "Fight of the night" prize for the most attractive match with VND10 million in cash for each fighter.
