The Da Nang Department of Culture and Sports has just introduced a plan to prevent and control COVID-19 at the ongoing National Swimming and Diving Championships which is taking place at the Da Nang Diving and Swimming Club from December 20-30.

Specifically, the sports event is held behind closed doors. The event’s organizers, referees and delegations of athletes are arranged to stay at the Thanh Binh Trade Union Hotel.

The organizers arrange shuttle buses to pick up athletes from the hotel to the Da Nang Diving and Swimming Club, and vice versa, during the competition.

All participating athletes are required to make medical declarations before arriving in Da Nang, and strictly comply with 5K recommendations of the Ministry of Health.

All members of the sports delegations are required to have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19 within 12 months or have been cured of the disease within 6 months. Also, they must present proof of negative test results via the RT-PCR technique with validity within 72 hours.

For members who have received the 2nd dose less than 14 days, athletes under 18 years old and those who cannot be vaccinated according to the instructions of the health authorities, have to make a full medical declaration and show a proof of negative COVID-19 PCR test taken within 72 hours prior to arrival in Da Nang.

During the tournament, athletes will get the rapid antigen tests, whilst those coming from areas at COVID-19 alert level 3 and level 4 will get RT-PCR tests,  every 3 days.
