The event aimed to introduce RoK food to Da Nang people and tourists, and increase mutual cultural exchanges between Viet Nam and the RoK.

The preliminary round of the contest was carried out online from October, 2021 with the participation of more than 20 contestants.

After this round, six excellent contestants from Da Nang and the neighbouring provinces of Quang Nam and Thua Thien Hue were selected to advance to the final round.

In the final round, the contestants were required to make dishes within 60 minutes under the supervision of the judges. They demonstrated their processing techniques and created delicious, unique, attractive dishes deeply imbued with the flavours of Vietnamese - RoK cuisine, which were highly appreciated by the judges.

The first prize was awarded to contestant Le Duc Thanh from the Da Nang-based Dong A University for his chicken stew with ginseng chestnuts.

2022 marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries (December 22, 1992 - December 22, 2022).

The RoK Consulate General in Da Nang is on track to prepare a plan to organise a wide range of bilateral exchanges and cooperation activities, including a large-scale culinary event.

It is hoped that the RoK culture, and its culinary values in particular, will get closer to Vietnamese people.
