Winners of contest to seek Da Nang's ambassadors of reading culture announced
Vice Chairwoman of the Da Nang People's Committee Ngo Thi Kim Yen on Saturday attended the awards ceremony of the Da Nang Reading Culture Ambassador Contest 2021. The event was jointly held by the municipal department of Culture and Sports, Education and Training, and Information and Communications.

Addressing the awards ceremony, Deputy Director of the Da Nang Department of Culture and Sports Nguyen Thi Hoi An emphasised that the contest is expected to inspire lifelong reading habits in the whole community, especially build up a reading culture in schools and the entire city as a whole.
Since its official launch in February, a sum of about 10,000 entries from all primary, junior and senior high school pupils citywide were submitted to the contest’s organsiers.
The contestants were required to present their thoughts and feelings about their most favourite books, as well as their ideas and initiatives to develop a healthy reading habit in local residents.
Either writings with each containing 800 words or 3-minute-long video clips, either in Vietnamese or in English, were accepted.
Four contestant were awarded the title of ‘Typical Ambassador of Reading Culture’, and 24 others received consolation prizes at the contest. Also, six collective prizes went to schools with many participants.
The top 20 entries were selected to go advance to the national-level contest organised by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. Encouragingly, Da Nang won one third and seven consolation prizes.
