On Friday morning, the 6^th Son Tra District Sports and Physical Festival officially kicked off, aimed at evaluating the development of mass sports movements, fostering human resources and enhancing the spiritual lives of local residents.

As scheduled, the sporting event is taking place from mid-February to June 2022. A total of more than 1,000 athletes across the district compete in 14 competitions. Through the event, the organisers will select excellent athletes from the grassroots mass movements for the district's sports teams which will compete at the 9^th Da Nang Sports Festival.

The closing ceremony of the festival is expected to be held in late June.

Previously, on April 28 afternoon, the Hoa Vang District People's Committee opened its 9^th Sports and Physical Festival with the aim to mobilise people from all walks of life, especially young generation, to do exercises to improve their health and serve the cause of national construction and defense in the new revolutionary period.

This year, athletes in Hoa Vang District compete in 7 sports such as football, volleyball, athletics, etc. The district-level sports event provides an opportunity for them to improve their professional skills and competitive experience so as to be ready to participate in the city's high-performance sports events.
