The first-ever 3x3 pro basketball championship (VBA 3x3) in Viet Nam was officially opened on Saturday at the campus in front of the Da Nang-based Trung Vuong Theatre in preparation for the upcoming 31^st Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games 31).

Viet Nam’s national basketball team face with Thang Long Warriors in the opening match of the VBA 3x3 Tournament.

VBA 3x3 Championship features two competitions: Viet Nam 3x3 Professional Basketball Tournament - VBA 3x3 Pro, and 3x3 U20 Basketball Tournament for VBA Clubs - VBA 3x3 U20.

Participating teams at both competitions compete in two Stops and a final round (Grand finals).

Stop 1 is taking place on April 30 and May 1 in Da Nang, whilst Stop 2 will be organised on May 7 and 8 in Ho Chi Minh City.

VBA 3x3 Championship attracts the participation of a total of 10 teams. They are Viet Nam’s national basketball team, 7 VBA clubs namely Ha Noi Buffaloes, Thang Long Warriors, Da Nang Dragons, Nha Trang Dolphins, Saigon Heat, Ho Chi Minh City Wings, and Cantho Catfish, and two guest teams: NovaWorld Phan Thiet and Binh Dinh Unicorns.

Throughout the event, the organisers serve free drinks for supporters. Also, there is also a Audi A4, Audi A6, Audi Q5 and Audi Q8 test drive programme for speed enthusiasts.
