Numerous attractive cultural and sports activities at Da Nang beaches
Within the framework of the Da Nang Beach Tourism Season programme 2022, the Management Board of Son Tra Peninsula and Da Nang Tourism Beach has organised various exciting cultural and sporting activities to meet the demands of locals and visitors.

Specifically, the Kite Festival 2022 is taking place at the East Sea Park between April 29 and May 1 from 9:30 am to 6:00pm daily. The event sees the participation of 6 artisans who are flying 50 large and small-sized kites in shapes of hearts, birds, fish, seals, octopuses, snakes, crocodiles, etc.
Mr. Vo Hong Phuong, a member of the Ho Chi Minh City Kite Club, said that his club has participated in arts kite performances in Da Nang since 2012. He added Da Nang’s white sand beaches and its favourable weather conditions with beautiful sunshine make it very convenient for participating clubs to fly all kinds of kites.
Meanwhile, the Sand Sculpture Contest is an exciting playground for students in architecture major. With their ingenuity and rich imagination, the contestants will create extremely special and impressive sand sculptures, creating unique and new check-in areas for locals and tourists when coming to Da Nang beaches.
Also on Friday afternoon, the Da Nang Sea Sports Festival - Da Nang Color Race 2022 was officially opened at the Man Thai Beach in Son Tra District. The event aimed to respond to the Da Nang Beach Tourism Season programme 2022, and to promote the development of water entertainment activities and beachsports in the city.
According to Mr. Tran Dai Nghia, Deputy Head of the Management Board of the Son Tra Peninsula and Da Nang Tourism Beaches, the Da Nang Beach Tourism Season 2022 programme promised to bring visitors interesting emotions and unique experiences when visiting beaches in Da Nang during the holiday.
Meanwhile, the Da Nang SUP Race 2022 draws much attention from SUP lovers and tourists.
Cao Xuan Dat, a resident of Hai Chau District’s Thanh Binh Ward expressed his excitement at competing in the men's 1,000m SUP race.
“This is a good opportunity for SUP lovers to exchange and get acquainted with this kind of sports, as well as bring the vibrant and healthy sports spirit to more people” added Dat.
Mr. Phil Cooper, an Australian nation, said that this was the second time he had visited Da Nang and experienced many interesting and unique sports activities on local beaches. He hopes to try delicious food and enjoy the vibrant atmosphere of Da Nang during this trip.
Moreover, a combined total of 110 photos which showcase the beauty of Son Tra Peninsula and reflect the negative effects of feeding monkeys are on display at a photo exhibition at the East Sea Park from April 28 to May 3.
Through vivid photos and stories about animals and plants in the peninsula, the Management Board wants to help locals and visitors to better understand the flora, fauna and biodiversity in the tourist site as well as convey the message of protecting the natural environment to residents and visitors.
