The exhibition presents 42 reproductions of resistance war-themed sketches donated by the Ho Chi Minh City Museum of Fine Arts.

At the opening of the exhibition, painter Nguyen Trung Ky and painter cum sculptor Pham Hong introduced the significant meaning of the art works to the students, and in person drew paintings as souvenirs for the school.

Through this ongoing exhibition, the organisers wish to pay tribute to the contributions and sacrifices by Vietnamese heroes and martyrs for the national liberation and educating the young generation about ardent patriotism.

Each sketch acts as a vividly- reproduced story with true experiences of wartime life, reflecting the difficult, arduous yet very heroic and undaunted life of the Vietnamese army and people.

This event also helps students learn more about the visual arts in sketching.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Nga, the Principal of Nguyen Van Linh school, affirmed that educating the young generation about Viet Nam’s glorious history and good traditions is very necessary.

The exhibition is an opportunity for children to learn about the heroic history of the nation through vivid sketches.

“The school will arrange and create conditions for children to visit and admire meaningful works of art, and introduce them to the history of the Military Zone 5, hereby inspiring them to uphold love for their homeland and painting, and promote the studious spirit so that they can become useful citizens in society in the future.

The exhibition runs until April 22.
