In March 28, Hoa Vang District People's Committee held a ceremony to inaugurate the cultural park at the Go Ha relic site in the excitement of all levels of government and people from all walks of life.

The project not only shows the enthusiasm, affection and responsibility of the authorities at all levels but also meets the aspirations of martyrs' relatives, ex-veterans and the locals.

The construction work has shown off respect and deep gratitude, honouring the great contributions and sacrifices of the soldiers in the Go Ha battle that took place in 1965. Besides, this is also a way of preserving the past to educate patriotic traditions and national pride for future generations.

Before the renovation, the relic was seriously degraded with overgrown weeds, the surface of the monument was peeling and the letters were blurry. In addition, the relic was nestled among the luxuriant forests, making this place gradually forgotten over time.

“The city leadership's decision to invest in the restoration of this work is a thorough and timely decision, affirming the proper attention to culture, especially historical sites. Hoa Vang District people will try to preserve and promote this place as a place for people to organize cultural activities, contributing to tightening solidarity and sharing in the community", expressed Mr Tran Em, Head of Go Ha Village, Hoa Khuong Commune.

According to Chairman of Hoa Khuong Commune People's Committee Nguyen Chi Tri, the Go Ha relic has been recognized as a municipal-level relic site since 2020. The cultural park of Go Ha built with a total investment of more than VND 12 billion features such items as a memorial stele of Go Ha Victory, a ceremonial yard, an exhibition house, a lake, and other ancillary items.

Since the work was complete, the commune has sent a person to look after, clean and take care of the trees, especially to prevent strangers from entering and destroying the historical site. The commune has also mobilized local people to regularly pay attention and join hands with the local government to protect the relic.

In the coming time, besides performing well the tasks of management and protection, the commune is going to continue to coordinate with local schools to organize extracurricular programs for students to visit, learn about history as well as patriotic traditions and show gratitude towards martyrs.

As shared by Mr Do Thanh Tan, Head of Hoa Vang District’s Culture and Information Department, the Go Ha relic site plays the role of a "living witness" to record crucial milestones, valuable for preserving the heroic history period and for building cultural identity, political education, ideology and great solidarity. Therefore, in the coming time, the district's cultural sector has determined to make every effort to promote the value of the site with many activities toward the homeland.

“The Publicity and Training Department of the district’s  Party Committee has implemented a local history education program in local senior high schools. The Culture and Information Department will also propose to add propaganda and education content about the Go Ha relic in this program to cultivate historical traditions for the younger generation. Thereby, fostering their love for the homeland, for loyal and heroic people of Hoa Vang, and contributing to building and shaping the core of Da Nang's people", Mr Tan said.
