National-level photo contest on Viet Nam's wetlands conservation launched

A national-level photo contest about the conservation and sustainable use of Viet Nam’s wetlands has been launched nationwide.

The contest, which runs from January to late May 2022, was jointly organised by the Communications Centre for Natural Resources and Environment under the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, and the Viet Nam Association of Photographic Artists.

The event is open to Vietnamese and foreign amateur and professional photographers.

All entries are required to showcase the beauty, importance and value of wetlands; the biodiversity values ​​of wetlands and their effects on the lives of inhabitants; the current status of wetlands in Viet Nam; and condemn excessive exploitation in wetlands, resulting in degradation, destroying natural landscapes and ecosystems, threatening public health, etc.

All entries must be sent to the website at www.5wphoto.com. Each individual can submits no more than 10 photos.

A total of 1 first prize of VND10 million; 3 second prizes of VND5 million each, 5 third prizes of VND3 million each, and 15 consolation prizes of  VND1 million each, will be given out to outstanding entries.

It is expected that the awards ceremony of the contest will be held in July 2022 in Ha Noi.
