Efforts to create quality works
The exhibition is regarded as a large-scale regional arts playground. Having pieces of fine arts works selected for display and prizes at the exhibition is a great honour for those who work in the field of fine arts.
Painter Bao Tan residing in Thanh Khe District who is a member of the Viet Nam Fine Arts Association said that he participated in this year’s exhibition with an oil painting called ‘Flying high’ which showcased people's efforts in enhancing their knowledge, position and vision to new heights.
“On the other hand, my work also reflects family relationships in protecting and supporting each other for mutual development” added he.
According to painter Bao Tan, the exhibitions in 2020 and 2021 were suspended in a centralised manner due to the impact of COVID-19. Therefore, he believed that this year’s event will certainly attract many artists across the regions.
"More importantly, Da Nang is the host of this year’s event, so local painters and sculptors are very excited and determined to bring to the exhibition their best works" noted he.
Meanwhile, painter Nguyen Thi Dao residing in Cam Le District who is a member of the Da Nang Fine Arts Association predicted that this year’s exhibition will attract many young artists, especially those specialising in the contemporary school.
In recent years, fine arts have changed, diversified and more creative. Such large-scale arts activities give young artists more opportunities to express themselves.
Affirming the position of Da Nang fine arts
Sculptor Dinh Gia Thang residing in Hai Chau District who is a member of the Viet Nam Fine Arts Association and the author of the heroic Vietnamese mother statue in Quang Nam Province, said he participated in this exhibition with the stone sculpture ‘Musician of love songs’, showing the image of the late musician Phan Huynh Dieu.
Through this exhibition, sculptor Dinh Gia Thang wants to bring to the public the image of a talented late musician, thereby conveying the beauty and spiritual values that musician Phan Huynh Dieu brings to millions of music-loving hearts.
“After two years of complicated development of the epidemic, in-depth and quality cultural and artistic activities are gradually returning to Da Nang. Our participation in the city-host cultural activities significantly contributes to giving a deep imprint of Da Nang in the eyes of the public and tourists” emphasised he.
Chairman of the municipal Fine Arts Association Ho Dinh Nam Kha highlighted the significance of the exhibition in marking a strong return of cultural and arts activities in the city after COVID-19.
He informed that in order to prepare for the forthcoming exhibition, his association has organised many creative camps with the aim of encouraging local artists to improve the value of their works.
“In general, this year’s exhibition is expected to attract 55 works of fine arts made by 39 local painters and sculptors. Therefore, we can expect the city to win many high prizes at this year’s exhibition, hereby affirming that Da Nang is one of the localities with outstanding fine arts movements in the regions and the country as a whole" said painter Ho Dinh Nam Kha.
