Da Nang People's Committee Tran Phuoc Son on Friday morning met with the Organizing Committee of the Da Nang Golf Tourism Festival 2022 along with relevant agencies to discuss the preparations for the upcoming sporting event.

In his remarks at the meeting, Vice Chairman Son said that Da Nang will host its first-ever Golf Tourism Festival from August 28 until September 2 but the city has experience of organizing international sporting events. Therefore, the city wants to use this event to promote Da Nang as a attractive destination for golf tourists, contributing to creating a new highlight of Da Nang’s tourism.

Mr Son highlighted the need for relevant agencies to work with international news agencies and media organizations to promote the upcoming sporting event.The municipal Department of Information and Communications has been assigned to coordinate with domestic media agencies to publicise the festival effectively  before, during and after the event.

Within the framework of the Da Nang Golf Tourism Festival 2022, Da Nang will offer an array of exciting events to locals and tourists such as exhibitions and experience tours. In addition, all necessary measures will be taken to ensure environmental sanitation, the security and social order, food safety during the festival.

Vice Chairman Son stated that the festival will offer great opportunity for Da Nang to promote it as an attractive travel destination in Viet Nam as the event will see the participation of 144 international professional golfers. He also highlighted the importance of careful preparation for the upcoming event to its success and attraction of high-quality tourists.

The Da Nang Golf Tourism Festival 2022 will feature 10 related activities, including press conferences, welcome parties, golf tournaments to celebrate the Da Nang Golf Tourism Week, and international golf seminar 2022.  The highlight of the Da Nang Golf Tourism Festival is the Asian Development Golf Tournament, also known as the Danang Fantatiscity Championship, which is slated to take place in Da Nang from August 30 - September 2.

During the festival, there will be a varity of activities such as an exhibition featuring booths displaying golf equipment, golf experiences, city tours, a food promotion programme, and volunteer activities.

Also at the meeting, Vice Chairman Son and representatives of local relevant agencies witnessed signing of MOU between the municipal Department of Tourism, BRG Group and Viet Nam Golf Event Organization Service Corporation (VGS EVENT), and between Asian Tour Company, BRG Group and VGS Event.
