'Take me to the Sun' music gala attracts thousands of spectators

The ‘Take me to the Sun’ music gala took place on Saturday evening at the outdoor stage under the foot of the Sun Wheel of Asia Park in Da Nang, attracting thousands of spectators.

In his opening speech delivered at the programme, municipal People's Committee Vice Chairman Ho Ky Minh highly appreciated Sun Group for its great efforts in hosting a series of ‘Take me to the Sun’ event.

He informed that, since mid-March 2022, tourism activities in the city have flourished as many international activities and events has been organized in the city. Besides, Da Nang has been honoured with some notable international awards and titles.

The aforementioned positive results have been mainly attributed to the city’s ceaseless efforts in speeding up virtual marketing campaigns, ensuring order security and safety for tourists, especially during the peak tourist season, and resume domestic and international routes.

Vice Chairman Minh highlighted that the music gala was part of the ‘Enjoy Danang Summer Festival 2022’ which is co-organised by Sun Group and the municipal People’s Committee from June 11 to August 15. It aims to help restore the local tourism industry while affirming the city’s position as one of Asia’s leading destinations.

Within the framework of the festival, Sun Group organises three main activities: Sun Fest Street Carnival, Take Me to the Sun music gala, and an electronic dance music (EDM) event.

“In the coming time, we hope to continue to receive active support from the business community in general, and Sun Group in particular, plus media agencies, in advertising local tourism activities and events, thereby contributing to driving the post-pandemic tourism development” added Mr. Minh.

Also, the municipal authorities pledged to support tourism firms to develop new products, promote tourist market exploitation, and organise events and festivals to attract more visitors to Da Nang, emphasised Vice Chairman Minh.

The ‘Take me to the Sun’ music gala themed ‘Living as the sunlight’ consisted of five chapters.

The opening chapter was a cultural space of contemporary folk music, with an exceptional performance combining various types of music of ethnic groups from all over the country, reflecting the cultural identity of the Vietnamese people.

Chapter 2 introduced the audience to contemporary pop music while Chapter 3 brought Hip-hop music with the participation of famous Rapper Karik and the male musician, singer Only C, who has created numerous hits for Vietnamese pop stars like Ho Ngoc Ha and Noo Phuoc Thinh. It is expected to bring a youthful, fresh, and international musical atmosphere. Chapter 4 and Chapter 5 brought high explosive music, rock, and electronic dance music (EDM).

The final part of the gala was a 15-minute fireworks display, taking the audience on an emotional rollercoaster and reminding them of the seasons of the International Fireworks Festival, which once lit up the city of the Han River in the summers before the pandemic.

It is known that the Sun Fest Street Carnival will take place along Vo Nguyen Giap Street, exactly a section from Vo Van Kiet T-junction, opposite My Hanh Restaurant to the junction opposite Loseby Hotel on Saturday and Sunday evenings.

The international (EDM) electronic music event themed ‘Take me to the Sun’ is slated to take place at Asia Park in August.

From now until the end of August, 2022, the B'estival festival and the ‘Battle in the Moon Kingdom’ show are being held at the Sun World Ba Na Hills.
