A ceremony has taken place to celebrate the 55^th founding anniversary of Quang Nam Liberation Tuong (Classic drama) Troupe, the forerunner of the Da Nang-based Nguyen Hien Dinh Tuong Theater

This event offered an opportunity for theater officials, artistes and actors through the historical periods to look back on the proud process of formation and development as well as the cause of preserving and promoting the value of local Tuong art.

At the celebration, certificates of merit the Vietnamese Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism were given to the theater and 2 artistes in recognition of their achievements in preserving and promoting this stage performing arts form in the 2017 - 2022 period.

On this occasion, the Viet Nam Theater Artists Association presented a certificate of merit to the theater for its many contributions to the local theatrical aspect.

During the 55- year development journey, about 100 Tuong plays with themes of history, legend, folklore have been staged and performed.

Dozens of plays, artistes and actors have won gold and silver medals and high prizes in national professional theater festivals, and national and regional art competitions and festivals.
