But the DA NANG Newspaper Road Races has been brought back and will be held at the Tien Son Sport Arena on December 18.

The race was last held at the Tien Son Sport Arena in 2020, and it saw the participation of over 900 runners across the city along with nearly 100 professional runners of 13 teams from the provinces of Quang Tri, Quang Binh, Binh Dinh, Ninh Binh, Quang Ngai, Lang Son, Ha Nam, Phu Yen, Ha Tinh, Thai Binh, and Hue, and the Da Nang Athlete Training Centre.

This year will be the 25th edition of the races, and the event is expected to attract about 900 runners from 80 government agencies and departments, senior high schools, junior colleges and universities across the city, plus Da Nang-based armed forces,  along with 13 teams of professional runners from other parts of the country.

All team members will compete in both the individual and team events, and distances will include 1.5km, 2km, 3km, 4km, 5km and 7km.

Currently, the Da Nang Newspaper is working with relevant agencies to call for funding from individuals and organisations in the city in an effort to socialize this sporting event.

Co-organised by the newspaper, the municipal Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the municipal Department of Education and Training, the city’s Military Command, and the municipal Police Department, the DA NANG Newspaper Road Races is one of the city’s sports competitions.

Mrs Tran Thi Thu Thuy, the Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the Da Nang Newspaper highlighted the Newspaper’s successes with the organisation of 24 editions of the race over the past years, thereby creating positive social impact. She also called on relevant units to continue their efforts to ensure the safety of runners and the racetrack, as well as maintain the security and traffic safety during the event in order to  contribute to the success of the upcoming sporting event.
