Under this project, Lien Chieu District will focus on improving its management capacity of aspects related to the tourism sector. Heed will be paid to creating a plan to ensure security and order at tourist attractions, ensure fire safety in these places and efficient use of resources in the preparation and deployment of rescue operations on local beaches. Special attention will be on enhancing management of  registration of tourists temporary staying in the city. At the same time, importance will be attached to boosting the implementation of the “One commune, One product” (OCOP) program, as well as selecting one of these products to develop it into a typical souvenir product to promote tourism in the district.

Importance will be attached to adjusting the district’s master plan and developing a scheme to turn the Hoa Khanh Traditional Market into a tourist attraction. Furthermore, the district will develop a number of streets dedicated to local food, fashion, cultural services, walking, and night markets, in which, the Nam O Walking and Food Street will be set up at a section from the park located at the end of Nguyen Tat Thanh coastal route to the Mikazuki Hotel. High priority will be developing new tours to historical relics, as well as encouraging tourist facilities and attractions, including food and beverage establishments, plus tourism businesses, to use eco-friendly products, and educating the public about a code of conduct in tourism.

Mr. Tran Cong Nguyen, the Vice Chairman of the Lien Chieu District People's Committee highlighted the significance of the consensus among local residents and tourism businesses’ participation in promoting the development of the community-based tourism, as well as preserving the traditions and culture of the district.

The district has conducted field trips to such local tourist spots as Hoa Hiep Nam Ward Monument, Nam O fish sauce craft village, Nam O relic cluster, Nhat Hai Van Post, and Nam Hai Pagoda in an attempt to raise awareness of authorities at all levels, all sectors and local communities about protecting natural resources, promoting tourism development, and keeping the district clean, beautiful and hospitable.

Mrs Tran My Quyen, the Director of Thinh Minh An Co., Ltd. remarked that the local government has provided great care and support for tour operators to help them boldly develop tours to Lien Chieu District’s attractions. According to Mrs Quyen, the company has taken 15 visitor groups to visit the Nam O Fish Sauce Making Village and Nam O relic cluster to explore and experience since 2020.

“We hope that Lien Chieu District will develop more attractive tourism products such as watching the sunrise and sunset on the Cu De River, and Nam O Bay or tours to explore local culture and history. To do so, the district must build more piers, docks and stops, as well as create new souvenir products in a bid to create the most favorable conditions for tourism companies to operate," Quyen said.

The Nam O eco-tourism area project associated with a career transition assistance programme for those in need was officially launched  in Da Nang on April 15. Located in the heart of the Nam O fishing village in Hoa Hiep Nam Ward, Lien Chieu District, the new development will cover an area of 25ha of land adjacent to 3km of coastline and 10ha of beach.

Developed by the Trung Thuy Group, the project will feature a high-class utility system with many impressive scale and architectural items such as hotels, apartments, and beachfront villas, promising to form a unique tourist destination on the Hue - Da Nang - Hoi An heritage route.

In its efforts to support fishermen to change their career, Trung Thuy Group donated 50 snack carts to them, and create a plan to set up a snack street along the Nguyen Tat Thanh Park to help them operate to earn money.

Mrs Duong Thanh Thuy, the Vice President of Trung Thuy Group, highlighted joint efforts the district authority and the group have made to develop a unique tourist destination on the Hue - Da Nang - Hoi An heritage route, as well as create a highlight to attract tourists to visit and shop in Lien Chieu District.

In an effort to develop the district into an inviting tourist destination in line with the Da Nang Party Committee’s Resolution No. 10 dated June 20, 2022 on the construction and development of Lien Chieu District by 2030 and the following years, the district will focus on developing new tours, routes and travel programs, more tourism products and services that are suitable for the local community characteristics, and meet the needs and wants of tourists.

Mr. Tran Cong Nguyen highlighted great need for joint efforts of local government leaders, relevant agencies, tour operators and local citizens to develop tours, maritime tourism routes in combination with promoting the development of resort and river tourism, cultural heritage tourism and community-based tourism due to the district’s strengths of natural landscapes, craft villages and historical sites.
