Along with spectacular fireworks displays, art performances are an indispensable spice of the ongoing Da Nang International Fireworks Festival (DIFF) 2023. In addition to the opening and closing nights, the art programme of DIFF 2023.

As for the remaining three nights, the Trung Vuong Theater is in charge of delivering performances. This is an opportunity for the city’s artistes to show their ability and affirm their expertise, and at the same time promoting the image, culture and people of Da Nang to international friends through a wide range of art activities.

The art programme at DIFF 2023 will take place on contest nights corresponding to the following themes “Peace for the World”, “Love Without Distance”, “Chasing Your Dreams”, “Embracing Nature” and “Light Up the Borderless World”.

In order to ensure thematic elements of art at each performance night, and at the same time to integrate the promotion of Da Nang's image, culture and people to international friends, the Trung Vuong Theater was assigned to support by the city in the opening and closing night and in charge of the art programme of the three remaining contest nights.

At the opening night, the artistes of Trung Vuong Theater delivered two performances at the opening part, including the concert ‘Convection’ and the song ‘Co Co River’, which was highly appreciated by the audience.

Along with that, the music section of the home team's display with the theme ‘Da Nang - Tone of Peace’ by Director of Trung Vuong Theater Tran Van Hao, the Vice Captain of Da Nang Team took the audience through 3 artistic ‘ladders’, sometimes gentle, sometimes strong, sometimes majestic, thereby giving viewers a spectacular performance, with a rhythmic combination of brilliant fireworks effects and lively sound in parallel with contributing to spreading the message of the home team that everyone in the world can live in peace, stability and happiness.

Le Anh Thu, a tourist from the capital city of Ha Noi shared: “The performance of the Vietnamese fireworks team brought me a lot of emotions, as well as national pride. The art performances on stage along with the fireworks display to the music of the Vietnamese team were very attractive and impressive, all of which made me unable to take my eyes off the track”.

In the role of art director, Mr. Tran Van Hao said that on the night of June 10 with the theme ‘Love without Distance’, love stories will be conveyed by Da Nang artistes through the wonderful mixture of romantic lyrics, melodies and top-notch sounds. The art performances in this show focus on expressing the emotions of love, from affairs between couples to love for their homeland, country or freedom. All towards the meaning that as love is big enough, it can remove all barriers and boundaries.

On the night of June 17, with the theme “Chasing Your Dreams”, art performances will be staged according to the trend of using live bands entirely, combining vibrant rock music to express the desire to conquer goals and dreams.

On the night of July 24 themed “Dance of nature”, there will be exciting and attractive dances to show the strength and intense vitality of nature. “The preparation time is running out but the artistes are working hard to ensure the artistic element of the competition nights. The goal is through art performances to create emotional sublimation for the audience at the festival.  At the same time, it is possible to integrate the promotion of Da Nang's image, culture and people to international friends to significantly contribute to stimulating tourism in the city”, said Mr. Hao.

In addition to the art programme on competition nights, DIFF 2023’s side activities take place on weekends. Among the 28 activities, 15 artistic activities are performed by the cultural sector. 

In particular, it is worth noting that the typical art activities are periodically organised on both banks of the Han River such as Street Dance, Street Music and folk singing. In addition, during the DIFF 2023 period, there are many cultural, sports and commercial activities accompanied by the competent agencies and programmes implemented by the Sun Group such as the Ba Na Fairy Love lantern festival, the DaNang Electronic Carnival and the M-Pack Festival & Carnival Street Food in Da Nang.

According to Deputy Director of the Department of Culture and Sports Nguyen Thi Hoi An, as the city's cultural management agency, this agency bears the responsibility for assisting businesses in organising sideline activities and integrating their programmes and activities into the chain of DIFF companying activities. In addition, supervisions and inspections are conducted to ensure that all activities run in a neat and quality manner.
