A total of 144 professional golfers, including 120 international and 24 Vietnamese golfers, will compete in the BRG Open Golf Championship Danang 2023 as part of the Danang Golf Tourism Festival 2023 which is slated to take place from August 25 - September 2, the municipal Department of Tourism announced at a press conference on Tuesday.

Deputy Director of the municipal Department of Tourism Nguyen Xuan Binh said that the Danang Golf Tourism Festival 2023 will be more innovative and attractive than last year’s edition.

Specifically, aside from the BRG Open Golf Championship Danang 2023 as part of the Asian Development Tour system, this year’s festival will feature a number of outstanding activities such as exchange activities with international golfers, a city tour for international golfers, and international golf conference.

Additionally, there will be golf exhibition booths, check-in areas, golf practice experience, a fashion show and cuisine stalls, aiming to bring new experience for both golfers and visitors.

Sponsored by the BRG Group, the BRG Open Championship Danang 2023 is expected to be held at the Nicklaus Course at the BRG Da Nang Golf resort. The total prize pool for the tournament will be up to US$100,000.

Mr. Mark Reeves, the Business Division Director of BRG Group, believed that, with the international-standard golf course and a team of foreign experts, the BRG Open Golf Championship Danang 2023 will continue to be a successful tournament and bring unforgettable experience to golfers and visitors, thereby promoting the development of golf tourism in Da Nang, and Viet Nam as a whole.

Mr. Ken Kudo, the Associate Director of Partnerships at Asian Development Tour, said that this year's event will play a vital role in promoting Da Nang as a tourism and golfing destination, and as a platform to inspire young Vietnamese golfers to pursue their dream of becoming professional golfers.

The Danang Golf Tourism Festival 2023 is not only an event for golf enthusiasts but also contributes to branding Da Nang as ‘Asia's Leading Festival and Event Destination’ to international friends.

Besides, cultural and culinary promotion activities at booths to be organised at the APEC Sculpture Park will emphasise the distinct cultural identity of the tournament held in Da Nang, Viet Nam.

Along with that, visitors will have the opportunity to practice golf at the 2^nd floor of the APEC Sculpture Park or at the training ground of the central golf course system for school pupils and college students.

Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Tuan, Chairman of VGS Group - the leading organisation specialising in golf events in Viet Nam, said that this is the second year VGS Group has organised an international golf tournament in Da Nang.
