The Cam Ne Village was formed in 1471 by generals who followed King Le into the southern land of Binh Chiem. Before the August Revolution in 1945, the Cam Ne village had 4 hamlets, namely Dung, Lang, Do and Bat.
Villagers made a living by doing farming. Also, they did flower mat weaving that was once offered to the King and participated in a trick battle during the French colonial period.
The Cam Ne village communal house was built as villagers began to pay attention to spiritual cultural life.
The Cam Ne village communal house is the common roof of the villagers, being a religious, cultural and educational center, and a place to preserve the fine customs and traditions of the village.
During the resistance war against the French colonialists and the US imperialists, Cam Ne villagers dug many secret tunnels in the communal house grounds to hide revolutionary cadres and operate as a meeting place to come up with many strategies to fight the enemy.
Before 1965, the communal house was once a liberated area for a revolutionary government to lead local people to fight against enemy. Thanks to these contributions, after Da Nang was liberated in 1975, villagers and revolutionary cadres of Cam Ne Village had been awarded the Third-class Thanh Dong Medal, the third-class Labor Medal, and 511 medals of all kinds.
The recognition of the Cam Ne village communal house as a municipal-level historical relic by the Da Nang People's Committee is considered as a recognition of the merits of preserving the traditional cultural values of Cam Ne villagers in particular and Da Nang people in general, as well as a source of spiritual encouragement for villagers to make more efforts in joining efforts to contribute to building a richer and more beautiful homeland.
