Enjoy Danang Summer Festival 2023 kicks off

The ‘Enjoy Danang Summer’ festival 2023 entitled ‘Wow Da Nang’ officially kicked off on Friday evening.

The festival, running until August 1, features a wide range of fascinating activities and programmes at the East Sea Park, the Ha Khe Marine Park and some local tourist beaches.

In his remarks at the opening ceremony, municipal People's Committee Vice Chairman Ho Ky Minh said that the festival was a unique cultural, sports and tourism event held annually, becoming a brand bearing its own mark in the city.

He added that Da Nang tourism is gradually recovering and developing strongly as a series of national and international events and festivals are continuously organised. Also, new tourism products and services have been put into operation, contributing to creating a vibrant and fresh atmosphere that attracted a large number of domestic and international tourists to the city in the first half of the year.

This year’s festival has such themes as enjoy the sea, enjoy entertainment activities, enjoy the cuisine, enjoy shopping and enjoy the festival. Besides, there will be a series of activities to stimulate demand on the spot for Da Nang tourism; introduce and promote the destination of Da Nang with new, diversified and attractive tourism products; and support tourism firms to introduce tourism products and services, contributing to increasing their business efficiency.

A special highlight of the festival is the large-scale ‘Enjoy Da Nang Summer’ music festival with the participation of famous domestic singers. In addition, there are an array of exciting activities, including the Viet Nam - International Food Festival with spaces for visitors to experience traditional craft villages with more than 100 local, regional and international dishes.

Additionally, a series of nightly arts performances will take place during the festival, such as an arts and Ao Dai show entitled ‘Da Nang Summer Colours’ at the East Sea Park from 7:30pm - 9:00pm on July 29; an art and fashion show entitled ‘Fairy Dance’ at the East Sea Park from 7:30pm - 9:00pm on July 29, an art programme themed ‘Colours of the sea’ at the Ha Khe Sea Park from 7:30pm - 9:00pm on July 29, and at the East Sea Park from 7:30pm - 9:00pm on August 1; and a traditional art performance programme called ‘A glimpse of Viet Nam’ at the Ha Khe East Sea Park from 7:30pm - 9:30pm on July 30.

Furthermore, there will be the 'Flying over the silver sea' paragliding tournament which will take place on the Son Tra Peninsula with the participation of more than 120 pilots from professional paragliding clubs, and the Artistic Kite Flying Festival with the appearance of more than 30 kites with unique shapes and vibrant colours.
