Da Nang fine arts sector achieves good results at regional exhibition

The 28th Fine Arts Exhibition in South Central Coast and Central Highlands officially kicked off in Dak Lak Province on Monday.

The exhibition attracts a combined total of 371 works created by 244 artists from 9 provinces and cities in the regions, namely Binh Dinh, Khanh Hoa, Gia Lai, Dak Lak, Da Nang, Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, Phu Yen and Kon Tum. Only 180 works of 165 authors are selected for display and award consideration.

As a result, 10 works of fine arts are officially awarded by the Viet Nam Fine Arts Association. In particular, the only B prize (no prize A) is given to the work ‘Green space’ by artist Nguyen Van Vinh from Gia Lai Province. In addition, there are 3 C and 6 consolation prizes.

Aside from the official awards, 13 works by 13 artists are nominated for awards of the National Committee of the Viet Nam Union of Literature and Arts Associations in 2023.

A total of 23 works of fine arts made by 23 members of the Da Nang Fine Arts Association are selected to display at the ongoing exhibition.

Notably, the silk painting ‘Children's memory’ by artist Ho Dinh Nam Kha took the consolation prize, whilst the lacquer painting ‘Temple of King Dinh’ by Nguyen Huu Duc won the Award of Young Artist.

Besides, there are three artists from Da Nang whose works are nominated for awards of the National Committee of the Viet Nam Union of Literature and Arts Associations in 2023.

The exhibition runs until the end of August 21.
