Da Nang Golf Tourism Festival 2023 opens

The Da Nang Golf Tourism Festival 2023 kicked off at the APEC Statue Garden Park on Thursday evening with many attractive side activities for both locals and visitors. In attendance were Da Nang People's Committee Vice Chairman Tran Chi Cuong.

Accordingly, the Da Nang Golf Tourism Festival 2023 with the focus on the BRG Open  Golf  Championship Da Nang with the theme “Emotion-catching Swings” from August 24 to September 2.

The festival is considered a festival for golf enthusiasts, and an opportunity to bring golf closer to the public through many side activities. For example, people and visitors can check-in with a giant golf ball on the second floor of APEC Statue Park, experience golf practice on the mini artificial golf range, enjoy a golf fashion and nightly art shows and receive free tickets for live golf tournaments (4,500 tickets/ 3 competition days from August 31 to September 2) to witness golf performances from professional international golfers.

Besides, the ‘Golf path’ is also one of the outstanding activities for locals and visitors, highlighting images recreating the history of the golf industry, golfing postures and legendary faces in the world’s golf industry.  

In addition, from August 24 to 27, an exhibition space displaying golf tourism products, equipment such as golf balls and other golf accessories is taking place on the first floor of the APEC Statue Garden.

On August 29 and 30, the AGIF Da Nang - Golf Tourism and Sustainable Strategies will feature discussions about various topics in the golf industry such as sustainable golf course design, maintenance and management, the role of women in the golf industry and solutions to develop the golf industry in the future.

To mark this occasion, Da Nang welcomed the leaders of the Global Golf Tourism Organization, the  Indian Golf Union and representatives of major golf tour operators from Japan, Australia, India, the Philippines and China.

These special guests came to Da Nang to survey tourism products and golf tourism service establishments; experience services and tourist attractions in Da Nang; attend activities within the framework of the Da Nang Golf Tourism Festival and BRG Open Golf Championship Da Nang 2023; cooperate with golf courses and travel companies in Da Nang to attract golf guests to Da Nang.

In addition, during the ongoing festival, the Pro-Am tournament will take place on August 30, 2023 at the Da Nang Golf Resort with the participation of 132 people (33 professional athletes and 99 guests and sponsors).

The focal point of the Da Nang Golf Tourism Festival 2023 is the BRG Open Golf Championship Da Nang 2023, attracting 144 professional golfers, 120 of whom are international golfers from Thailand, Malaysia, the Philippines, South Korea, Japan, Malaysia, England, Australia, Sweden, England, India and China, and the remaining ones are Vietnamese golfers. In particular, notable among them are four athletes who are leading the ADT 2023 rankings.

The festival draws international golfers and puts Da Nang’s golf tourism on a global stage. This event aims to boost MICE tourism and showcase the city’s commitment to diversifying event festivals, solidifying its status as ‘Asia’s leading festival and event destination’.

The BRG Open Golf Championship Da Nang 2023 is part of the Asian Development Tour, which takes place from August 31 to September 2 at Da Nang Golf Resort and is broadcast live on the Youtube channel Fanpage GolfNews and Danang FantastiCity fan page of the Da Nang tourism industry.

The total prize money of the tournament is up to US$100,000, an increase of US$25,000 compared to 2022. This is one of the factors that enhance the attractiveness and high competition of this year's tournament.

Da Nang Department of Tourism Deputy Director Nguyen Xuan Binh said that following the success of 2022, this agency will continue to add more activities to make the festival more attractive, attracting many golfers from countries in Asia with a developed golf industry.
