The Da Nang Golf Tourism Festival 2023 is scheduled to take place from August 25 to September 2 with its highlighting events being the BRG Open Golf Championship Danang 2023 and lots of interesting side activities such as exhibitions, seminars, and entertainment events.

Mr. Nguyen Xuan Binh, the Deputy Director of the Da Nang Department of Tourism remarked that the international sports event themed ‘swings ride the wave of emotions’ is expected to attract golf enthusiasts from around the world, as well as contribute to the success of the city’s festivals and event series in 2023, thereby helping the city confirm its title as "Asia's leading festival and event destination".

The BRG Open Golf Championship Da Nang which is the first tournament of the Asian Development Tour in Viet Nam will take place at Nicklaus Course of the BRG Da Nang Golf Resort this year. This venue is the first golf course in Viet Nam, and Asia as a whole with the use of the Florida style embankments.

The Asian golf tournament will see the participation of 120 international golfers from such countries as Thailand, South Korea, Japan, the UK, Sweden, China, along with 24 Vietnamese players. The Asian tour members will compete for USD 100,000 in total prize money.  BRG and VGS groups are committed to working with the Asian Tour to develop the BRG Open Golf Championship Da Nang into one of the top golf tournaments in the world in a bid to attract more professional golfers and golf lovers around the world to the city.

A representative of the BRG Group said that this is the second consecutive year that the BRG Group has acted as the title sponsor of the Asian golf tournament. The group is proud and honored to use the Nicklaus Course of the BRG Da Nang Golf Resort, and the Sheraton Grand Da Nang Resort & Convention Center as places of convergence for the top professional golfers in the world.

With world-standard golf course managed by a team of PGA-certified foreign experts, BRG Group believes that the Asian tournament will continue to succeed in order to create unforgettable experiences for players and tourists, as well as promote further development of golf tourism in Da Nang, and Viet Nam as a whole.

Apart from its highlighting event being the BRG Open Golf Championship Danang 2023, this year's Da Nang Golf Tourism Festival promises to be even more exciting than ever before with a wide range of amazing events. Included are golf experiences and practices for local residents and tourists at the second floor of the Da Nang APEC Sculpture Park , or the best known golf courses in Central Viet Nam such as the Montgomerie Links Golf Club and the Laguna Lang Co Golf Club. This year’s festival will also feature such amazing events as a meeting between golf lovers and international players, city tour for the Asian tournament members to help them explore the beauty of the city, and golf seminars in an attempt to bring new experiences to locals and tourists.

Mrs Mai Thi Thanh Hai, the Deputy Director of the Da Nang Tourism Promotion Centre, said that in their efforts to bring locals and tourists closer to golf and to create opportunities for exchange between them and professional golfers, the organisers of the Da Nang Golf Tourism Festival 2023 will offer such exciting events as a golf exhibition and areas designed specifically for taking selfies or pictures, golf experiences and practice, fashion show, food and drink stalls.

An area of ​​2,750 square meters on the first floor of the Da Nang APEC Sculpture Park will host an exhibition which features 20 booths to display golf equipment and clothing for men and women, and more, along with 3-5 food and drink stalls. An area of ​​​​790 square meters on the second floor will be used for golf practice, picture taking, golf fashion show, music concerts, and so on.

According to the organizers, the Da Nang Golf Tourism Festival 2023 is expected to welcome an international golf familiarization (FAM) delegation with around 15 people from the International Association of Golf Tour Operators (IAGTO), golf tour operators from Northeast Asia such as Japan, and South Korea plus European countries. Their FAM trip aims to conduct a survey on golf tourism in Da Nang, discuss a plan to organize the Asia Golf Tourism Convention 2024 (AGTC 2024)  in Da Nang. In addition, an international seminar on golf industry and golf tourism will bring together about 80-100 delegates. Included are leaders from the Da Nang government, the Vietnamese National Administration of Tourism, the General Department of Sports and Physical Training, the Da Nang Department of Tourism, relevant local departments and agencies, the Viet Nam Golf Association, the Viet Nam Golf Tourism Association, Central Regional Alliance for Golf Courses, the Da Nang Golf Association, plus directors of golf courses and golf companies, major golf tour operators across Viet Nam, tourism associations, travel associations, hotel Associations nationwide, and domestic and international airlines.
