The 6^th edition of the Table Tennis Tournament for VTV8 Cup is taking place at the Da Nang-based Tien Son Sports Arena.

Hosted by the Viet Nam Television Centre in Central Viet Nam and Central Highlands (VTV8), the tournament sees the participation of 303 amateur athletes and 30 professional athletes from 71 delegations from many provinces, cities and clubs across the country.

The most notable among them is Tran Mai Ngoc who went down in the history of Viet Nam’s table tennis when he and his teammates won the first gold medal in mixed doubles at SEA Games 32 after 26 years.

During the tournament, athletes compete in three events: professional singles; professional teammates; and amateur teammates.

The annual tournament aims to create a practical playground for athletes to have the opportunity to practice and exchange professional experience, thereby contributing to promoting the table tennis movement in the community.
