Da Nang: active locality in building friendly ties, cooperation with S.Korea

Addressing the opening ceremony of the 2023 Viet Nam - South Korea Festival in Da Nang on Thursday, Vice Chairman of the municipal People's Committee Tran Chi Cuong said that the festival in Da Nang is oriented to become an annual foreign cultural event in the city to contribute to deepening the relationship between Viet Nam - South Korea in general, between Da Nang and South Korean localities in particular.

After more than 30 years of establishing diplomatic relationhips, Viet Nam and South Korea have achieved many important achievements in various fields. In 2022, the relationship between the two countries will be upgraded to become comprehensive strategic partnership.

In that extensive partnership, Da Nang is an active locality in building official friendship and cooperation with South Korean localities such as Changwon, Daegu, Hwaseong, Seoul and Jeju.

The fields of cooperation between Da Nang and South Korean partners range from investment, trade, tourism, infrastructure construction, smart cities to training and staff exchanges.

In particular, clearly aware of the role of culture and cultural exchange in bilateral cooperation, the Da Nang government always creates the most possible favourable conditions for cultural exchange activities with South Korean partners.

With a variety of activities, this year’s festival brings participants great experiences, meeting the needs of people exchange and entertainment between the two sides.

The ongoing festival is being organised by the Da Nang Department of Foreign Affairs in coordination with the Korean Consulate General in the city.

This year’s festival features outstanding activities such as parades and performances of traditional musical instruments by art troupes from South Korea; Vietnamese - South Korean dish making contest; folk dance exchanges; Taekwondo demonstration by Seungri Club and taekwondo experience programme for tourists.

Along with that, within the framework of the festival, there are 60 booths introducing information, culture, products, cuisine and typical folk games of Viet Nam and South Korea.

In addition, there will be three nights of Vietnamese - South Korean art performances. In detail, on the evening of September 9, the final night of the Viet Nam - South Korea talent contest will take place with more than 20 eye-catching performances, promising to bring an attractive art party to both locals and visitors.
