Nearly 1,200 taekwondo martial artists compete in Championship for Korean Ambassador's Cup in Da Nang

As many as 1,200 male and female taekwondo martial artists of 58 clubs from 49 provinces and cities nationwide are competing in the National Taekwondo Championship for the South Korean Ambassador's Cup 2023 which is taking place at the Da Nang’based Tien Son Sports Arena.

These localities include An Giang, Bac Can, Bac Lieu, Binh Dinh, Binh Duong, Binh Phuoc, Binh Thuan, Ba Ria - Vung Tau, Can Tho, Gia Lai, Hai Phong, Quang Nam, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Son La, and the Military and Public Security departments.

In particular, Da Nang has three participating clubs, namely Da Nang 1, Da Nang 2 and Hong Bang.

Participating taekwondo martial artists compete in boxing, and individual and team competitions in 3 age groups of U12, U14, U17 and in weight categories of 29kg, 33kg, 37kg, 41kg, 42kg, 44kg, 46kg, 49kg, 52kg, 55kg, 63kg, 65kg, 75kg, 78kg or more.

Co-organised by the Da Nang Department of Culture and Sports and the Viet Nam Taekwondo Federation, the event provides the good opportunity for taekwondo martial artists to improve their competition skills, as well as for the federation to evaluate the Taekwondo practice and competition movements of provinces, cities and industries across the country.

Through the tournament, the organisers select excellent taekwondo martial artists to join the national youth Taekwondo teams, and compete in international tournaments.
