In recent years, Da Nang has recorded the strong development of the Vovinam (Vietnamese traditional martial arts) movement. In its efforts to create the best possible conditions for martial artists to interact, and develop their expertise, the city's sports industry regularly organises Vovinam tournaments, gradually spreading the kin of sports widely in the community.

At the end of the afternoon, the training atmosphere at the Vovinam Club of the FPT Polytechnic College is lively and attractive.

According to coach Nguyen Van Tan, to meet the needs of students, the school has built facilities to serve a variety of sports, including Vovinam.

Currently, the college's Vovinam Club has more than 30 members, and it maintains training activities 3 times a week. Vovinam training helps students improve their physical strength, endurance, flexibility and agility as well as remove the pressure in study and life. Through the training process, the school's excellent athletes are selected to perform and compete in major events and tournaments.

Similarly, the movement of training and competition at the Duy Tan University’s Vovinam Club takes place regularly.

The club was established to promote the development of school sports. In recent years, it has seen an increasing number of members.

The club's members are often given the opportunity to compete in university and municipal-level tournaments, and achieve certain successes.

Nguyen Tran Thinh, a member of the Duy Tan University’s Vovinam Club, said “ that the club now has more than 150 students of many different ages. Many of them gradually have a passion for this martial art and stick with the club for a long time.

Aside from educational establishments, the Vovinam movement develops widely in localities.

According to Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Anh, Deputy Director of the Center for Culture, Information and Sports of Hai Chau District, in order to promote the development of the movement of physical training and sports among the masses, the district makes every effort to create the best conditions for Vovinam clubs in the locality to develop.

Till date, many Vovinam clubs have been developed in the district, including the Vovinam Club of Labour Cultural House, Vovinam Club of the Children's Cultural Palace, and the Son Nam and Chi Lang Vovinam Clubs.

Thanks to the strong growth of the Vovinam movement from the grassroots, the district selects excellent martial artists to join the district’s Vovinam team for competing in municipal-level tournaments.

To promote the development of the Vovinam movement, the city's sports industry regularly organises tournaments, creating conditions for martial artists to interact and improve their skills.

Most recently, the municipal Department of Culture and Sports has organised the Da Nang Youth Vovinam Champs 2023, attracting the participation of 154 martial artists from 15 Vovinam clubs citywide such as Cam Kim, Minh Tam, Son Nam, Hong Quang Primary School, Vo Thi Sau Primary School, Huynh Thuc Khang Junior High School, Thanh Khe High School - Lien Chieu High School, Ton That Tung Senior High School, Tran Phu Senior High School, the Da Nang Physical Education and Sports University, the Duy Tan University, the Greenwich University, the University of Da Nang, and districts of Ngu Hanh Son and Hai Chau.

According to Mr. Tran Cong Tu, Director of the Da Nang Physical Education and Sports Center, in the coming time, the center will organise more tournaments for Vovinam clubs citywide to increase interaction to get competition experience.
