At the exchange, MasterChef champion Christine Ha attended a cooking workshop, and interacted with 12 trainees of the Cocoon Project, a free training project in the food service industry for disabled and underprivileged people. Christine Ha guided the trainees, including five deaf students and another one with a leg disability, to cook some disches. The workshop was also attended by Chef Tuyet Pham, the runner-up of MasterChef Viet Nam 2015.

Ms. Natella Svistunova, Cultural Attaché of the US Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City, said that Christine Ha is a chef of Vietnamese origin and she represented MasterChef US to make such a Viet Nam trip. Christine Ha is a testament to overcoming difficulties and the intersection of Vietnamese and US values.

In particular, the programme shared the success story of visually impaired US Chef Champion Christine Ha, a name that is no longer unfamiliar to the community of food lovers around the world.

The story about the first blind contestant to participate in the show MasterChef in the U.S has taken many people around the world by surprise.

Surpassing tens of thousands of contestants to become the champion of the third season of MasterChef US, Christine Ha not only convinced the judges but also show the world a fact that people with disabilities can make something great.
