Da Nang pupils join cultural exchange activities in South Korea

A group of 10 pupils, teachers and representatives of the Office of Education and Training of Da Nang’s Hai Chau District is joining cultural exchange activities in Uiwang City, Gyeonggi Province, South Korea from October 24 - 30

This is part of the cultural exchange programme for junior high school pupils signed between authorities of Hai Chau District and Uiwang City on May 3, 2023.

On the afternoon of October 24, the welcome ceremony for pupils in Da Nang’s Hai Chau District took place in a solemn and cozy atmosphere at the headquarters of the Uiwang City Administrative Center. The event was chaired by Mayor of the Uiwang City Kim Sung Jei.

This is the first time school pupils in Hai Chau District have participated in cultural exchange activities in a South Korean locality.

Within the framework of the programme, the Da Nang pupils have the opportunity to learn South Korean language; explore cuisine, traditional rituals and music; and visit historical and tourist sites in South Korea.

In particular, they take part in a homestay programme to experience daily life with South Korean families in Uiwang City. This is a practical and useful cultural and social activity, helping participants gain more understanding of a new culture, improve foreign language skills, and build friendships and relationships with international friends.

Under the aforementioned cooperation programme, in 2024, Hai Chau District will welcome a group of pupils from Uiwang City to experience the educational environment, culture, daily life with Vietnamese families in the district.

The programme will contribute to strengthening the close exchange and friendship between Hai Chau District and Uiwang City, hereby opening up more cooperation opportunities in many fields in the near future.
