During her visit to the Da Nang Museum of Cham Sculpture in mid-May, Nguyen Phan Huyen Linh, a student of the University of Education, was introduced to the automatic interpretation system and virtual reality tour by a museum guide. This information surprised Linh and her friends because nowadays, with just a technological device (such as smartphone, laptop and tablet), th who do not have the opportunity to visit the museum can still experience a virtual tour to the museum at https://scan3d.danangfantasticity.com/.

“The experience of visiting the Museum of Cham Sculpture in virtual reality space is quite interesting. The museum space and artifacts are recreated realistically. Notably, each artifact is integrated with automatic narration. This virtual tour is different from direct sightseeing one because we can freely learn about the artifacts we are interested in without affecting the sightseeing tour” Linh shared.

Virtual reality tour is just one of many technology and digital transformation applications at the Museum of Cham Sculpture. When coming here, domestic and foreign tourists can scan QR codes to find out information about the museum and actively visit artifacts even without a museum guide.

On the other hand, the museum also implements heritage education activities in online form. At the same time, it applies the warehouse artifact information management model using QR code scanning technology, helping retrieve information about artifacts quickly, contributing to saving a lot of efforts and time for the management team.

Deputy Director of the Museum of Cham Sculpture Tran Dinh Ha said that, in the coming time, the unit will continue to supplement and complete digital data records of artifacts at the municipal-level historical relic. The 3D digitisation of typical artifacts is performed to serve the creation of data, and be a scientific basis for preservation, restoration, display, and communication.

Similarly, other museums in the city have also promoted the application of technology in management activities as well as serving the visiting needs of the public.

Notably, the digital transformation project is being implemented by the Da Nang Museum of Fine Arts to improve the quality of operations and increase visitors’ experience.

Currently, residents and tourists can access the address https://vr360.com.vn/projects/bao-tang-my-thuat-da-nang/ to visit the Da Nang Museum of Fine Arts in the form of 3D with integrated virtual MC, as well as listen to explanations of the artifacts at the permanent display space on the 2nd and 3rd floors of the museum via QR code.

In the coming time, the Da Nang Museum of Fine Arts will continue to organise exhibitions in virtual space to introduce collections that have not yet had conditions to be displayed, as well as create online thematic exhibitions to serve the public's online visiting needs, Deputy Director of the Da Nang Museum of Fine Arts Nguyen Thi Trinh said.

Notably, the ‘Digitalising red addresses’ project, deployed by the Da Nang Youth Union at 74 revolutionary relic sites in the city, has been significantly contributing to tourism promotion in line with the highly popular trend of smart, digital trend.

Deputy Secretary of the municipal Youth Union Nguyen Thi Anh Thao said that, under the project, people and tourists can scan and find out information about the relics and red addresses where they are stopping. In addition, Da Nang youth has also created and posted video clips introducing the red addresses of the Youth Union's facilities on the website at https://padlet.com/TKDyouthmedia/s-h-a-a-ch-3o4uxgh401pr2mr3 to serve the needs of people and tourists to visit remote relic sites.

“The project contributes to the promotion of red addresses, and cultural and historical landmarks in the city, as well as demonstrates the spirit of youth initiative, volunteerism, and creativity in applying information technology and digital transformation” Deputy Secretary Thao emphasised.
