Accordingly, from November 26 - December 10, 20 Lao students studying at Da Nang-based universities were sent to live in 13 households and the Tam Bao Pagoda in the district.
The programme provided a good opportunity for Lao students to hone their Vietnamese communication skills as well as integrate into Vietnamese life.
Besides, during the programme, the Youth Union chapter in Hai Chau District, mass organisations and the authorities in 13 wards in the district organised many exciting cultural exchange activities, thereby contributing to connecting and tightening the good friendship between local people and Lao students.
Also at the ceremony, the Consulate General of Laos in Da Nang awarded a Certificate of Merit to the People's Committee of Hai Chau District in recognition of their active involvement in the programme.
Meanwhile, 13 households, the Tam Bao Pagoda and 20 Lao students received Certificates for participating in the homestay programme in 2023 from the municipal Union of Friendship Organisations.
It is known that the "Connecting Arms of Friends" Festival featured a number of funny activities such as folk games, ‘nhay sap’ (dance with bamboo poles), and culinary exchange activities.
As a result, 3 first, 3 second and 2 third prizes went to outstanding participating units.
The festival was a meaningful exchange activity that contributed to tightening solidarity and friendship, and creating opportunities for the youth of the two countries to connect, share, and develop the long-standing good relationship between Viet Nam and Laos.
