Space for exhibition, experience and creativity
In the process of carrying out the task of organising the planning and architecture of the thematic park combined with the Son Tra District Administrative Centre in An Hai Bac Ward, the district’s authorities are proposing to build a Vietnamese bamboo exhibition house. This will be a space to cultivate, preserve, display, introduce and promote bamboo species, along with experience and demonstrate values and creativity related to bamboo and bamboo products, hereby contributing to preserving and promoting the traditional cultural values of the nation.
Besides, this is also an educational, cultural and entertainment space for local residents and tourists, in tandem with displaying, connecting and consuming bamboo products. This space is expected to connect with Ngu Ong Temple of Nai Hien Dong Ward, a basket boat weaving village in Tho Quang Ward and nearby fishing villages.
Therefore, the bamboo-themed park combined with a Vietnamese bamboo exhibition house is also expected to become a new and unique tourism product, attracting tourists to visit, experience, create and promote the development of tourism, a key economic sector of the district.
Vice Chairman of Son Tra District People's Committee Nguyen Hoang Viet said that the district is researching the building of a theme park on a total area of 7.95 hectares and is also studying the expansion of this park closer to Tran Hung Dao Street to increase the total area to more than 9 hectares.
The district leaders’ consistent idea is that most of the park area will be planted with green trees, with a construction density of only about 2-3%, including an area to build a Vietnamese bamboo exhibition house. After the Vietnamese bamboo exhibition house project is approved by relevant agencies, the district will organise a competition on the architectural plan of this exhibition house to have the best design plan for construction investment.
Deputy Director of the Da Nang Department of Culture and Sports Ha Vy said that in recent years, Son Tra District has made many efforts to develop the fields of culture, sports and tourism and it can be said that the district is a bright spot for this field. In addition to regular activities, a system of cultural institutions is developed by the district.
For example, the art gallery that the district is completing construction is considered the only fine arts museum at the district level. With the Vietnamese bamboo exhibition house project that Son Tra District is building, the Department of Culture and Sports welcomes the ideas, meaning and feasibility of this project.
