Bringing nearly 1,000 new books to readers in Da Nang

The Da Nang Reading Culture Festival 2024, themed ‘Reading Books in Spring - Learning Thousands of Good Things’ was officially opened in the campus of the city’s General Library of Science, 46 Bach Dang Street, on Tuesday.

Co-organised by the library, the municipal Youth Union, and the Books 1980 Media and Culture Company, the festival runs until March 3.

During the 7-day festival, readers have access to nearly 1,000 newest, interesting and valuable books at subsidised prices at 20 booths.

Additionally, the most outstanding entries at the Da Nang Reading Culture Ambassador Contests are being displayed at the event. There is also an exhibition featuring information resources to celebrate the 93rd anniversary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (March 26).

Moreover, the festival features a wide range of exciting activities, including a drawing contest entitled 'Historical shapes' for junior high school pupils, a 'Ring the Golden Bell' contest themed 'Youth with reading culture', an eloquence contest 'Vietnamese Tet through the pages of books' for senior  high school pupils, and a student volunteer project on developing reading culture.

At the same time, festival-goers have the opportunity to meet with cultural experts, scientists, writers, and leading experts, as well as take part in interactive games with books.
