Da Nang filled with Tet colours

The recent 7-day 2024 Tet holiday break witnessed beautiful sunny weather, favourable for spring travel, pagoda ceremonies, checking-in at flower streets and enjoying cultural and artistic activities. Relevant agencies and businesses organised many cultural activities and unique art programmes, contributing to creating a bustling atmosphere during Tet.

Joyful and bustling atmosphere

Sharing joy with the whole country, the atmosphere of Tet 2024 in Da Nang is quite bustling, joyful and full of festive colour. At entertainment locations such as Bach Dang Flower Street, the eastern end of the Han River Bridge, APEC Park, 29-3 Park, a large number of people and tourists flocked there to check-in and take photos to save the memorable moments with beloved family and friends. Museums, the Marble Mountains Tourist Site, pagodas and cinemas attracted large numbers of local residents and visitors.

At the Da Nang Museum of Fine Arts, Tet was also the time for the exhibition ‘Spring Grace’, displaying 36 works on the theme of spring and zodiac animals by artists. In particular, from February 10 to 19, the museum is running a programme to experience the 2024 spring with the printing of Dong Ho painting entitled ‘Dragon Procession’ and check-in at traditional Tet space, attracting a large number of people, tourists, especially young people.

Cultural and artistic activities also took place vibrantly and bustlingly in the districts. For instance, at the campus on the northeastern side of the Han River Bridge, Son Tra District People's Committee coordinated with the Quang Nam and Da Nang Culinary Culture Associations to organize the ‘Quang Da Tet’ culinary cultural festival from February 2 to 17 with more than 50 booths displaying and experiencing unique culinary culture, ‘Ao dai’, fashion show, Quang noodles, the Da Nang School Singing contest, a good chef contest. In particular, the Spring Flower Festival is held here from February 7 to February 1.

Many attractive art programmes

A notable point during this Tet holiday was the art activities organised by the city’s administration along both banks of the Han River. Along the the western bank of the Dragon Bridge, Hai Chau District, general art programmes were held regularly at 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. from February 11 to 14 with the following contents: music, concert, dance, street and some animated performances to interact with the audience.

The park area on the eastern end of the Dragon Bridge, Son Tra District was bustling with an art programme ‘Welcome Spring 2024’ organized by the Da Nang City Events’ Association on the evening of February 11,general art programme ‘Celebrating the Party to welcome Spring’ by Nguyen Hien Dinh Tuong Theater on the evening of February 12 and February 14, an arts programme ‘Da Nang in Spring’ conducted by the Centre for Culture and Cinema on February 13.

The landscape floor area of Bach Dang Street also attracted many tourists with a unique international art programme called "WOW! ‘Dragon Festival’ sponsored by Sun Group, taking place from February 11 to 14. Ms. Pham Thi Bich Hang, a resident of Hoa Cuong Bac Ward, Hai Chau District expressed: ‘The art shows along the banks of the Han River are very good, making everyone want to see them. These programmes make the Tet atmosphere more bustling and joyful’.

According to Deputy Director of the Department of Culture and Sports Ha Vy, cultural and entertainment activities during the Lunar New Year 2024 were carefully prepared, taking place vibrantly and attractively, attracting a large audience.

Museums organized many activities to serve visitors during Tet such as picking Spring buds, giving gifts to the first visitors to museums, attracted nearly 4,000 visitors, thereby serving people to welcome joyful and healthy Lunar New Year, in accordance with the urban cultural and civilized lifestyle, national culture and local customs and traditions.

In order to continue serving people and tourists after the Tet holiday, on February 24, at APEC Park, the Da Nang Culture and Cinema Centere organised an art programme of a poetry and music night to celebrate the 2024 Lunar New Year, theme ‘Hometown Spring’.

On this occasion, the semicircle of Bach Dang Street and the west bank of Dragon Bridge also performed programmes such as a street music show, Han River dance, launching a series of cultural activities and festivals on both sides of the Han River to serve the needs of tourists local residents and tourists enjoying art entertainment activities.
