As recorded by our reporter, even though it was sunny and the first screening of the hot movie will be at noon on February 25, since Saturday morning, a large number of people, especially the young, have waited in a long line from the sidewalk of Le Duan and Phan Dinh Phung streets to the Le Do Cinema to buy movie tickets.
Some young people shared that they had lined up before 9:00am but by 11:00 am they still could not buy tickets. The Le Do Cinema also increased its staff to meet the sudden surge in audience demand.
Mr. Vuong Chi Thanh, Head of the Cinema Office of the Da Nang Cultural and Cinema Centre Vuong Chi Thanh cum manager of the Le Do Cinema said that initially, the unit planned to screen the abovementioned movie for 7 days from February 25 to March 5.
However, due to the strong increase in audience demand, the theatre will extend the screening time for 28 days so that everyone can watch the movie. Movie tickets can also be booked an unlimited number of days in advance instead of 3 days in advance as before.
Up to now, the Le Do Cinema is the only in Da Nang screening this movie. Audiences who want to watch the movie can buy tickets directly at the cinema. Each audience can buy a maximum of 4 tickets priced at VND50,000 per ticket. Every day, the Le Do Cinema has 3 screenings with 130 movie tickets each.
‘Dao, Pho and Piano’ is among the movies financed by Viet Nam's national budget.
Directed by Phi Tien Son, the movie is inspired by a 60-day-and-night fight to defend Ha Noi in late 1946 and early 1947.
It tells about the couple who overcame difficulties and dangers to find each other again on the last day of those 60 days and nights on February 17, 1947. At that time, Vietnamese troops withdrew to the Viet Bac resistance zone, beginning the long-running resistance war.
Having met in the middle of a street battle, the lovers only had a few hours left to get married, in a situation between life and death. The plot focuses on their last moments - the moments of love for life, beauty and freedom.
